Job Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks related to the general care and education of children of ages 6 weeks – 12 years old under the direction of a qualified supervising teacher. This position requires providing services to the assigned classroom in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- Must obtain Food Handler Certificate
- Active CPR certification or ability to obtain.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Emotional maturity when working with children.
- Listening skills, availability and responsiveness to children.
- Thorough understanding of Daycare center operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement policy and procedures.
- Knowledge and implementation of Illinois child care guidelines and state licensing.
- Accepts and respects differences in children, parents and coworkers.
- Desire to help children meet their developmental and emotional needs.
Experience:
Prefer basic experience in a daycare or early childhood center. Must love working with children and assisting teachers in the classroom.
Hours: 6am-2:30pm or 9am-5pm – 2 available positions – Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center, Carthage, IL
