Job Summary: The RN/LPN/MA is a clinical practitioner who participates in providing patient care. He/she can implement and evaluate patient care specific to the patient population’s age from toddlers to geriatrics. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the clinic’s standards of care.  He/she demonstrated performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing system; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.  Acts as a patient advocate. To assist the behavioral health provider in all professional and clinical procedures. Clinical procedures shall include phlebotomy, urinalysis, and taking and recording patient vital signs.

 Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for all patient care activities as directed by the Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
  2. Will receive and greet patients as they arrive at the clinic.
  3. Will take and record vital signs. A brief description of the patients’ complaint/condition and record this information on the patient’s chart.
  4. Will assist when directed in performing phlebotomy tests, urinalysis, and vital signs.
  5. Responsible for monthly duties as assigned.
  6. Records all pertinent patient information and ensures all necessary forms are completed before patients are seen.
  7. Will assist in ordering office supplies and forms using the correct requisitions.
  8. Will maintain the appearance of the office and equipment to assure a positive image and smooth operation.
  9. Ensures that office hours are maintained, and the public is notified of any variance.
  10. Actively and consistently contributes to the success of the clinic and objectives.
  11. Supports the policies and procedures and administrative decisions within the clinic.
  12. Accepts supervision and feedback in a non-defensive manner, correcting or improving behavior as requested.
  13. Communicates clinical and equipment problems to the appropriate administrative personnel.
  14. Knows the patients’ rights and responsibilities and is responsible for the implementation.
  15. Promotes effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers.
  16. Continues education through in-service seminars and literature to maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends in clinics and health care operations.
  17. Assists with documentation of incidents.
  18. Represents the clinic in hospital activities.
  19. Ensures that all patients that have a scheduled appointment are seen within 15 minutes of that time or are provided with an explanation.
  20. Ensure that all appropriate medical charts and information are available prior to each scheduled appointment.
  21. Organizes files so that information is easily located.
  22. Ensures that all appropriate signatures appear on the specific documents within each file.
  23. Ensures that all patient files are kept current with proper information being contained in each.
  24. Utilizes established channels of communication and lines of authority for problem solving and communications.
  25. Will post the necessary information to bill patients.
  26. Appropriately logs patient charges into the billing system in a timely manner.
  27. Handles questions concerning patient bills and will demonstrate a courteous manner when doing so.

Education Requirements:

  1. Must have current state licensure.
  2. Must have current Basic Life Support training.

HOURS: M,W, TH – WEEKLY 7AM-7:30PM
