Memorial Hospital is excited to announce the Spring Edition of Balanced Bites: Cooking for Diabetes. This event promotes diabetes wellness through healthy cooking. The class will take place on Monday, March 24, at 10:30 AM in the Health and Wellness Teaching Kitchen located at Memorial Hospital at 1454 N. Co. Rd. 2050, Carthage, IL. This event is open to individuals aged 18 and older who are diabetic, pre-diabetic, or who have loved ones with these conditions.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. The class will include a delicious meal, along with real-life applications to help participants make healthier choices for themselves and their families. This enriching experience will be led by Ashlyn Housewright, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and Kayce Fuhrman, Registered Nurse and Director of Diabetes Services.
Fuhrman is dedicated to helping others improve their health. She believes in meeting people where they are and collaborating to find ways to enhance their well-being. “Managing diabetes can feel overwhelming, but small, intentional changes in how we approach food can make a big difference. This class is about equipping people with practical skills and confidence to make healthier choices every day,” said Fuhrman.
