Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce a new service, in partnership with Quincy Medical Group (QMG), to expand access to advanced spine care in the region by adding Dr. Philip Meinhardt, a board-certified spine surgeon.

Dr. Meinhardt is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in the treatment of a wide range of spinal conditions, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal compression fractures, deformities, spondylolisthesis, tumors, and adult degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

With more than 16 years of experience, Dr. Meinhardt has a strong clinical focus on surgical techniques, including microscopic procedures, disc replacements, spinal fusions, and fracture treatments such as spinal jack and kyphoplasty procedures. Inspired at a young age, Dr. Meinhardt has dedicated his career to helping patients overcome back pain and return to a higher quality of life. His goal is to help individuals get back to doing what they love, whether that’s working, staying active, or enjoying everyday life without pain.

“Having Dr. Meinhardt join our surgical team is a tremendous asset to Memorial Hospital and the communities we serve,” said Dina Schaller, Director of Surgery at Memorial Hospital. “In the past, patients often had to travel significant distances to receive specialized spine surgery. Now, they can access high-quality, advanced spine care right here in Hancock County.”

Dr. Meinhardt completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of South Florida in 1999, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2003. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Meinhardt enjoys cooking, traveling, fishing, and gardening.

Dr. Meinhardt performs surgeries at Memorial Hospital, Quincy Medical Group Surgery Center, and Blessing Hospital. A referral is required for surgical consultations. For more information about surgical services at Memorial Hospital, please visit MHTLC.ORG or call 217-357-8608.
