Biography:

I’ve been in private practice since graduating from residency in summer of 1990. I practiced in rural Minnesota in the town I was born in. I grew up on a farm with dairy, hogs and grain. I was the third of four boys. I have one child and one grandchild. I have practiced in a rural environment my whole career. I love all areas of Orthopedics, i.e., foot/ankle, upper extremities/hands, trauma, sports injuries, joint replacements and spine.

Personal Statement:

My Orthopedic interest started when I was a high school runner. My junior year in track I developed debilitating shin pain. I was misdiagnosed for months. I saw an Orthopedist and within minutes he knew what was wrong and explained the healing and what I was to expect. As I went through medical school and training that experience stayed with me.
