Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Joby Miller, MSW, LSW, RN, to the Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile team, expanding access to behavioral health services for children throughout the region. As a Licensed Social Worker and Registered Nurse, Miller will provide behavioral health services to elementary through high school-aged students through Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile.
Miller brings more than three decades of experience working with children and families across a variety of professional and personal roles. Since becoming a registered nurse in 2009, she has served as both a school nurse and a public health nurse, providing care, health education, and support to families across the region. Her extensive background in public health has given her a unique perspective on the growing behavioral health needs facing today’s children and adolescents.
Miller’s journey into behavioral health was inspired by both her professional experiences and her family’s story. As an adoptive parent, she witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact compassionate mental health providers can have on children and families. Those experiences motivated her to transition from nursing into social work and mental health counseling to help others navigate similar challenges through empathy, understanding, and hope.
Miller has a particular passion for supporting children who have experienced developmental trauma or attachment challenges, as well as specialized training in crisis intervention and suicide assessment.
Outside of work, Miller enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and being on the water. She and her husband of 26 years enjoy cooking, traveling, playing games, and spending time with their three sons.
With the addition of Miller, Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile continues to expand its mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care directly to the communities it serves. By bringing behavioral health services into schools and across the region, Memorial Hospital is helping to reduce barriers to care while ensuring that children and families have the support they need to thrive.
