MEMORIAL HOSPITAL’S TONYA DOOLEY RECOGNIZED AS HANCOCK COUNTY’S BEST PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that Tonya Dooley has been named the 2025 Dammy Award winner for Best Physical Therapist in Hancock County. This community-voted recognition from Radio Keokuk reflects Dooley’s compassion, commitment to patient progress, and the trust she has built with those she serves.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Dooley. “Helping patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence is incredibly meaningful. I’m grateful to be part of a team that truly puts patient care at the heart of everything we do.”

Memorial Hospital provides Physical and Occupational Therapy services to acute inpatients five days a week, ensuring consistent, high-quality rehabilitative support during each patient’s stay. Dooley and the therapy team partner closely with medical and nursing staff to help patients move safely and steadily toward recovery.

The hospital also offers a comprehensive Transitional Care (Swing Bed) Program for individuals who no longer need acute hospital care but still require skilled nursing or daily therapy before returning home. The program features:

  • Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy 5 days/week
  • Hospital-level nursing care and physician oversight
  • On-site access to lab, X-ray, emergency services, IV therapies, and wound care
  • Individualized plans of care and collaborative rounding with patients and families
