MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RECOGNIZES DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH WITH A COMMUNITY HEALTH SCREENING
November 5, 2025 Memorial Hospital

November marks Diabetes Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about prevention, early detection, and management of diabetes. Memorial Hospital would like to invite community members to take a proactive step in their health by participating in the Community Health Screening on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Memorial Hospital Health & Wellness Center Conference Room.

For just $25 per registrant, participants will receive valuable preventive health services, including: A1c Testing, Lipid Panel, Body Composition Analysis (Tanita Scale), and Vision & Screenings.

Participants are encouraged to fast for 10–12 hours prior to testing to ensure accurate results. Following the screening, attendees can enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the hospital’s Courtyard Café. Appointments are limited to two openings per session and are available between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM; therefore, early registration is strongly encouraged by visiting MHTLC.ORG.

In addition to community screenings, Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Center offers a nationally recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education & Support (DSMES) program. This program helps individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes learn to manage their condition through personalized education and ongoing support.

“Diabetes is a lifelong journey, but it doesn’t have to be one you travel alone,” said Kayce Fuhrman, Director of Diabetes Services at Memorial Hospital. “Education and early intervention make a tremendous difference. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, at risk, or simply want to learn more, our goal is to provide the tools and support needed to help you live your healthiest life.”
