MEMORIAL HOSPITAL LABORATORY RECOGNIZED AS HONORABLE MENTION BY MEDICAL LABORATORY OBSERVER FOR 2026 LAB OF THE YEAR
May 5, 2026 Memorial Hospital

Memorial Hospital is proud to share that its laboratory team has been recognized as an honorable mention in the 2026 Lab of the Year program by Medical Laboratory Observer (MLO).

Each year, MLO highlights laboratories across the country that demonstrate innovation, excellence, and a commitment to improving patient care. Memorial Hospital Laboratory was selected for honorable mention from multiple nominations from peers across the industry.

The recognition specifically highlighted the laboratory team’s creative “Lazy Diana”—an employee-designed rotating platform modeled after a lazy Susan for the lab’s molecular analyzer. This innovative solution was developed by DJ Cheney from Plant Operations to assist a lab team member named Diana with routine maintenance, improving both workflow efficiency and staff safety.

“This recognition reflects the ingenuity and collaboration of our organization,” said Sheridan Voshake, Medical Lab Supervisor. “Our staff is continually looking for ways to enhance safety, support one another, and improve the quality of care we provide to our patients and community.”

MLO noted the project as a standout example of practical innovation, demonstrating how small, thoughtful changes can make a meaningful impact in daily operations.

Memorial Hospital remains committed to fostering a culture of service and excellence, where employees are empowered to develop creative solutions that strengthen patient care and workplace safety.
