Memorial Hospital is excited to invite the community to a family-friendly event with its “Kids Fish for Fun” event, taking place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hartzell Lake on the hospital campus at 1454 N. Co. Rd. 2050, Carthage, IL.
This free event is open to youth ages 15 and under, with all participants required to be accompanied by an adult. Highlights include:
- Free Fishing Gear: The first 50 kids to arrive will receive a free fishing pole and stringer (pre-registration does not guarantee these items).
- Catch & Keep: Children can take home their catch, with a convenient on-site filet station available.
- Safe & Simple: Kids should bring their own fishing equipment. Please note that live minnows are not permitted as bait.
- Adult Support: Per Illinois law, adults helping children (baiting, casting, netting, removing fish, etc.) must hold a valid fishing license.
