Memorial Hospital Announces “From the Garden” Teaching Kitchen Class for Kids
June 15, 2026 Memorial Hospital

Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Center will host “From the Garden,” a teaching kitchen class for children entering grades K-1. The class will take place on Thursday, July 16, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM and will feature recipes made from foods grown in the garden.

The class will be led by registered dietitians Julie Harrell and Jennifer Soucie in the Health & Wellness Center Teaching Kitchen located at 1454 N. Co. Rd. 2050 in Carthage. The class costs $30 and includes a meal for each child.

“This will be a fun and engaging opportunity for young children,” said Harrell. “Together we’ll learn about what grows in a garden, but also how to use those nutritious ingredients in their kitchens at home.”

Early registration is encouraged because class size is limited to 10 participants. Visit MHTLC.ORG to register online. For more information, call the Health & Wellness Center at 217-357-6540.
