HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER ANNOUNCES EXCITING SUMMER PROGRAMMING FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES
May 15, 2025 Memorial Hospital

The Health & Wellness Center at Memorial Hospital is excited to announce a summer full of engaging educational programs for children and families. Designed to promote healthy habits and active lifestyles, this year’s lineup includes hands-on summer camps, creative food experiences, and inclusive community events.

The events include two summer camps for grades 2–5: Kitchen Chemistry (July 22–24) and Cooking Around the World (August 6–8), where kids can explore food science and global cuisine. For younger children in K–1st grade, themed sessions like All About Dairy (June 27) and Taco Tuesday (July 15) offer interactive, tasty fun. Families of all ages can enjoy Books & Bites at the Colchester Library on June 16, or they can lace up for the FOCUS Fitness Family Fun Run/Walk on July 4.

“Our summer programming is all about giving kids the opportunity to explore new interests, stay active, and have fun in a safe, supportive environment,” said Ashlyn Housewright, Executive Director Community Health & Wellness. “We’re proud to offer experiences that nourish both mind and body while connecting families across our community.”

The classes will be taught by Memorial Hospital’s Registered Dietitians and Head Chef Amber Clark. Registration is now open. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to sign up early. You can learn more and register at MHTLC.ORG or by calling 217-357-6540.
