On Friday, May 22, Hancock Village proudly welcomed residents, staff, veterans, family members, and community supporters for a heartfelt veterans ceremony and celebration honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.
The special event brought generations together in a moving tribute filled with patriotism, remembrance, and gratitude. Guests gathered to recognize both living veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, creating a meaningful moment of reflection for all in attendance.
Residents of Hancock Village thoroughly enjoyed the celebration, sharing stories, memories, and laughter while reconnecting with familiar faces throughout the organization. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the deep sense of community shared across the campus and the enduring legacy of military service.
One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the ceremonial raising of a flag presented to Hancock Village by U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. As the flag was raised, attendees gathered in unity as the National Anthem was performed, creating a touching, patriotic atmosphere.
In addition to honoring resident veterans, the ceremony also recognized military veterans from both Memorial Hospital and Hancock County Senior & Childcare Services for their dedication and service to the country and the local community.
