Description

Two bed sleep lab that performs diagnostic and titration studies.

Moving into new lab at the beginning of the year with state of the art equipment from Natus sleep system and Respironics, Alice night one, HST.  Knowledge in Natus a plus but not necessary, will train.

Scoring test is not a must but would be very beneficial.

 

Clinic Biller/Coder Patient Account Specialist

Memorial Hospital is looking for an experience clinic biller with at least 3 – 5 years of clinic billing/coding experience in an RHC and fee for service facility.  Remote, at home, off campus access will be considered.  See job specifications and job responsibilities listed below. Primary Job Responsibilities:

Monitor the coding and charging of all clinic procedures for appropriateness and reviews accounts for compliance with Federal and State billing requirements to payers.

Maintain the Epic work ques including claim edits and charge review so that accounts are billed within 4 business days.

Maintain the Epic work ques for timely follow up on accounts for all payers and private pay.

Perform the necessary maintenance of patient accounts, i.e., correspondence, follow-ups, logs, inquires, and correspondence to ensure accurate and timely communication with the business office.

Maintain a system to capture missed and/or late charges prior to submission of claims.

Work with other departments to ensure best practices and processes for the entire Revenue Cycle.

Work closely with healthcare providers in the education of billing and coding principals.

Maintain knowledge of Federal and State billing requirements.

Job Summary:

To develop, maintain and implement plans to achieve quality improvement goals through the use of data analytics, collaboration and education of the team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all ACO data entry and analytics for the clinic as well as Quality Reports (MIPS, CPRO data, BCBS, etc.)
  2. Work with providers and staff on quality benchmarks to implement strategies for improvement
  3. Work closely with department directors and providers to support key organization initiatives and priorities
  4. Develop full understanding of Rural Health Clinics and Patient Centered Medical Home guidelines and management
  5. Assist in running reports for accreditation processes
  6. Manage data abstraction and analytics for any insurance quality initiatives.
  7. Assist providers and staff with identification of organizational and community resources available to patients to help improve quality scores related to patient barriers

Clinic Registered Nurse

Full time position for RN to work with general surgeon, nephrologist when in Carthage, and float as needed.  Will be responsible for traveling to outlying clinics with general surgeon multiple times per week (currently includes Keokuk, Colchester, and Carthage locations but more may be added as his practice grows).  Will be responsible for working with nephrologist once per month.  When general surgeon is out of office may be required to provide float coverage in other clinic areas.  Main location will be Carthage.

Description

This position works every weekend 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and two other days during the week.

Interviews and registers patients for hospital admittance, outpatient procedures, and emergency services either in person or on the phone for pre-registration.  Obtains all applicable medical, demographic, and payment source information to enable the Hospital to appropriately treat the patient, bill the proper payers, and comply with Federal and State regulations; monitors the completion of the conditions of admissions for each registration.

Maintains adequate skills and competencies on the Epic software; maintains the work ques within Epic assigned to this position; processes any change of address and mail returns received from the USPS. Monitor the incoming calls with proper telephone etiquette and efficiency. Complete billing projects as assigned by supervisor.

Attempts pre-registration and point of service collection when appropriate to remind patients of their scheduled services and to inform patients of their financial responsibility to allow for an educated decision on what the patient feels is appropriate treatment and to reduce back end collection expenses.

Assists the nursing staff of the ER/OP Department by performing clerical duties within the nursing unit as needed; verifies insurance coverage on inpatient registrations, outpatient surgicals, and other accounts as needed; assist the ER/OP nursing staff in scheduling services and setting up reoccurring accounts for those services; monitors the need for call back paperwork for the nurses in ER.

Balances the cash drawer; maintain electronic patient files as needed; maintain departmental supply inventory; prepare the various lists related to patients for appropriate use; communicate effectively with a wide range of age groups from the very young to the elderly and multiple socio-economic backgrounds.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Interview and complete the registration of all patients to ensure an accurate patient medical record.  This may include the calling of physician’s offices.
  2. Assists the nursing staff by performing clerical duties as needed.
  3. Attempts pre-registration and point of service collection when appropriate while remaining compliant with EMTALA.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to properly prioritize activities within the department as needed.
  5. Accurately and promptly handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls with proper telephone etiquette
