Description

The Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of patients, and the families of patients of the Evergreen Center.  This is a part-time non-benefit position.  This position will be approximately 20 hours each week typically Monday through Friday.  Hours and days will vary according to patient care needs.  A weekly schedule is produced 1 week prior and communicated to the driver.  The Driver will need to be compassionate, friendly and empathetic to our patient's needs.  The Driver will also need to assist with walking with the person and assisting them in/out of homes/living facilities/vehicles.

Typical hours would be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 and then 12:05 to anywhere between 2:00 to 3:30 depending on where the route goes.  This position needs to be somewhat flexible and available for last minute changes due to cancellations or rearranging due to cancellations.

Description

Provides support to Memorial Hospital and Hancock County Senior Services.  The FNS Director will be responsible fore creating, implementing, training and monitoring nutritional programs to meet the regulatory requirements of healthcare and assisted living clients.  Develops, implements, coaches and measures successful patient and resident service programs to exceed the satisfaction goals of our clients.  Director will also be responsible for menu, budgets, staffing, safety, lead the department and set the example for all Food and Nutrition Services employees.  Director will be involved in meetings and maintain professional relationships.

Develop programs based on Joint Commission regulations and customize to facility needs.

Work in conjunction with the Registered Dietitian for menu modifications.

Work in conjuction with the Registered Dietitian, Food and Nutrition Coordinators, and team members on menu development, recipe execution and production of highest quality food for patients, residents, and retail customers.

Develop and implement purchasing standards.

Develop and implement HACCP standards to be compliant with federal, state, and local agency regulatory.

Training, Monitoring, Hiring Staff:

Conduct ongoing training for Food and Nutrition Staff and provide educational opportunities for professional development.

Conduct annual staff evaluations according to procedures and within timeframe.

Maintain and enforce disciplinary policy and follows through on procedures.

Description

Interviews and registers patients for hospital admittance, outpatient procedures, and emergency services either in person or on the phone for pre-registration.  Obtains all applicable medical, demographic, and payment source information to enable the Hospital to appropriately treat the patient, bill the proper payers, and comply with Federal and State regulations; monitors the completion of the conditions of admissions for each registration.

 

Maintains adequate skills and competencies on the Epic software; maintains the work ques within Epic assigned to this position; processes any change of address and mail returns received from the USPS. Monitor the incoming calls with proper telephone etiquette and efficiency. Complete billing projects as assigned by supervisor.

 

Attempts pre-registration and point of service collection when appropriate to remind patients of their scheduled services and to inform patients of their financial responsibility to allow for an educated decision on what the patient feels is appropriate treatment and to reduce back end collection expenses.

 

Assists the nursing staff of the ER/OP Department by performing clerical duties within the nursing unit as needed; verifies insurance coverage on inpatient registrations, outpatient surgicals, and other accounts as needed; assist the ER/OP nursing staff in scheduling services and setting up reoccurring accounts for those services; monitors the need for call back paperwork for the nurses in ER.

 

Balances the cash drawer; maintain electronic patient files as needed; maintain departmental supply inventory; prepare the various lists related to patients for appropriate use; communicate effectively with a wide range of age groups from the very young to the elderly and multiple socio-economic backgrounds.

  1. Interview and complete the registration of all patients to ensure an accurate patient medical record.  This may include the calling of physician’s offices.
  2. Assists the nursing staff by performing clerical duties as needed.

  1. Process all third party payer claims except Medicare and Medicaid.
  2. Monitor the coding and charging of all outpatient visits, inpatient visits, surgical procedures and ancillary procedures for appropriateness and reviews accounts for compliance with Federal and State billing requirements to payers other than Medicare and Medicaid.
  3. Perform the necessary maintenance of patient accounts, i.e., correspondence, follow-ups, logs, inquires, payment arrangements, and correspondence with the extended business office.
