Description

The clinical coordinator is responsible for assisting the clinic manager with unit organization and the clinical management of patient care.  The clinical coordinator will collaborate with the clinic manager to establish and communicate goals with all staff, as well as monitor and measure outcomes.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Provide general administrative and clerical support including mail, scan, fax, copy, to management.

Self directed team player with the ability to collaborate with the team on projects.

Act as a point of contact for internal team and hospital departments.

Maintain electronic/hard copy filing system.

Clinic Biller/Coder Patient Account Specialist

Description

Memorial Hospital is looking for an experience clinic biller with at least 3 – 5 years of clinic billing/coding experience in an RHC and fee for service facility.  Remote, at home, off campus access will be considered.  See job specifications and job responsibilities listed below. Primary Job Responsibilities:

Monitor the coding and charging of all clinic procedures for appropriateness and reviews accounts for compliance with Federal and State billing requirements to payers.

Maintain the Epic work ques including claim edits and charge review so that accounts are billed within 4 business days.

Maintain the Epic work ques for timely follow up on accounts for all payers and private pay.

Perform the necessary maintenance of patient accounts, i.e., correspondence, follow-ups, logs, inquires, and correspondence to ensure accurate and timely communication with the business office.

Maintain a system to capture missed and/or late charges prior to submission of claims.

Work with other departments to ensure best practices and processes for the entire Revenue Cycle.

Work closely with healthcare providers in the education of billing and coding principals.

Maintain knowledge of Federal and State billing requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned and requested.

Description

This will be a float position that will assist with coverage at all Memorial Medical Clinic locations.

Performs clerical duties, which include intake and check out of patients.  Provides patient appointments based on protocol and phone assessment of patient condition.  Collects co-pay and deductible amounts from patients and tracks patient financial and productivity information. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. At each visit will verify the patient’s date of birth, phone number, address, insurance, and any other necessary information.
  2. Records necessary demographic data changes in the chart and computer.
  3. Maintains appointment schedule with distribution to nursing staff and providers as requested.
  4. Prepares the charts for the next day appointments making sure chart is neat, up to date and non-tattered.
  5. Files all charts.
  6. Collect co-pays and patient balances at the time of service.  Have self pay patients fill out forms and payment contracts as needed.
  7. Answers the telephone by the third ring.
  8. Takes precise messages by getting the patient’s full name and spelling, date of birth, complete description of phone call, initials, and time of call.
  9. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a clinical practitioner who participates in providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  He/she is able to implement and evaluate patient care specific to the age of the patient population served from newborn to geriatrics. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit’s standards of care.  He/she demonstrated performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing system; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.  Acts as a patient advocate at all times. Would be responsible for activities involving respiratory care, pulmonary functions, nebulizer treatments, BIPAP, etc.  EKG's, assisting with stress tests and cardiac/pulmonary rehab.

This position is part time and will work every other weekend.  Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., taking call during the p.m. hours from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m on the Saturday and Sunday.

This position would also be PRN and would fill in for vacations.
