Balanced Bites Heart Health Month

In celebration of American Heart Month this February, Memorial Hospital invites community members to take part in “Balanced Bites: Flavorful Foods for Heart Health,” a hands-on cooking class designed to inspire heart-healthy habits through flavorful, approachable meals.

Hosted by Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Center, this interactive class will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 10:30 AM in the Health & Wellness Teaching Kitchen. Participants will learn practical cooking techniques and nutrition tips that support heart health, with several recipes influenced by the Mediterranean diet.

The class will be led by Memorial Hospital Dietitian Jennifer Soucie, RD, CDCES, and Kayce Fuhrman, BSN, CDCES, and Director of Diabetes Services. Together, they will guide participants through meal preparation, discuss heart-healthy nutrition strategies, and share resources that can be easily applied at home.

Attendees will prepare and enjoy a nutritious lunch together and receive fun giveaways to extend the experience beyond the class. Space is limited to 10 participants, and attendees must be 18 years of age or older.
