| Blood Bank |
| Memorial Hospital has a full service blood bank
providing testing that includes blood typing, antibody detection and
cross-matching for transfusion. |
| American Red Cross (Heart of America Region - Peoria, IL) supplies
all blood products issued from Memorial Hospital laboratory. Our
stock of blood products enables us to transfuse all blood types.
Special products (such as for oncology patients receiving
chemotherapy) are available at any time from ARC. Products include
packed red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma and platelets. |
| The blood bank also issues RhoGam to eligible
Rh negative women during pregnancy and after childbirth. |

| Nuclear Medicine |
| A modern nuclear medicine department is located
at Memorial Hospital. Scans are available Tuesday and Thursday each
week. The types of scans include cardiac, bone, HIDA (for
gallbladder), lung, thyroid, etc. Skilled physicians interpret the
scan films and issue a report to the ordering physician. |
