Charge Analyst

High School Education. Preference of 2 year Associate degree in a healthcare field. Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in the following areas: (1) healthcare finance or insurance industry with proven leadership and communication ability; (2) managed care contract negotiations. Knowledge of quality improvement processes, statistical analysis and regulatory standards preferred. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point required. Must be an analytical thinker and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to work without supervision and be a self starter and have strong organizational. Proficiency in word skills required. Certification/License: None required.
Description

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews all ER, IP and AO charts for charging accuracy based on the documentation within the chart.
  2. Monitors activity related to Charge Capture and routes all chart issues to the appropriate staff member for charge corrections as needed.
  3. Performs charge entry when appropriate to ensure timeliness of coding and billing.
  4. Coordinates the maintenance and updates to the facility’s charge master; assisting the revenue departments in maintaining their charge area with compliance and accuracy.
  5. Researches billing requirements/claims payments for new services being proposed.
  6. Monitors and assists revenue department in establishing audit functions of billing for accuracy and compliance.
  7. Reports all claim denials to appropriate departments.

Description

This is a clinical practitioner who participates in providing patient care. He/she is able to implement and evaluate patient care specific to the age of the patient population served from newborn to the elderly. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care. Description

Nurse Care Coordinator

Description

The Care Coordinator is responsible for functioning in an expanded role to facilitate care through interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination. Responsible for communicating with patients and caregivers to ensure improved care transitions, enhancing patient to provider communication to identify opportunities for care continuity, encouraging the patient’s self-management skills and understanding the healthcare system to guide and empower patients to participate in their own care plan.

  1. Help establish the Chronic Care Management/Patient-Centered Medical Home Programs.
  2. Continually assess and provide suggestions to improve Care Plans.
  3. Document all patient care interactions in Electronic Health Record.
  4. Must have superb time management skills.
  5. Continually assess and improve relationships with all healthcare resources.
  6. Must have superb assessment skills and be able to relay those to the healthcare provider in a professional manner.
  7. Be able to float from the hospital and the clinic to help with the coordination of care upon discharge.

Description

Responsible for processing claims of all third party payers and private pay patients, both inpatient and outpatient.  Handles correspondence to and from insurance companies regarding submitted claims.  Makes appropriate contacts, by telephone or correspondence, with patients or insureds regarding needed information to accurately bill patient's claim.  Prepares vouchers from Medicare, Medicaid, and TriCare (Champus) for posting to patient accounts.  Must be available to the public, walk-ins and telephone calls, for any inquiries.
